Martin Prince
Martin began playing at the age of 11 when he joined the Oakmead School Band on cornet,
in Bournemouth under the direction of Courtney Bosanko.
He was fortunate to be asked to become a member of the Woodfalls Band in 1972, playing with them
both in the Royal Albert Hall in the National Finals, and at 'Belle Vue' Manchester in the
British Open.
He joined the Downton Band in 1978 where shortly afterwards he moved from Cornet to Flugel Horn.
He was joined by his wife Susan upon their marriage, both spending nearly 13 years with the
band, competing at the National Finals in the third section on two occasions.
Martin rejoined the Woodfalls Band in 1992 on Cornet and subsequently Flugel Horn playing in the
National Finals, British Open, The Masters, Pontins, and the Grand Shield on many occasions..
In 2003 he joined his wife Susan and children, Joanne and Nicholas, at Michelmersh, playing
Flugel Horn.
