Chris Warren
Chris took up the cornet at the age of nine and played for Drybrook and District Silver Band. Initially in the junior band, moving to the main band at age thirteen and
working his way up to solo cornet. During this time he had the good fortune to be taught by Brian Cooling, former principle cornet, Grimethorpe Colliery band.
Chris took a break from brass banding when he went to university. A chance conversation with a work colleague resulted in him helping out for a couple of MSB
engagements before joining the band permanently in 1995. In the last decade he has gone to almost every contest and been pleased to see the band rise from the forth
to the second section.
Outside of band, his interests include adventure travel, photography, computers and playing squash. He is married with one chipmunk.
