A Trio of Trophies for the Training Band

Not to be out done by the Senior Band winning two trophies in Torquay in November the Michelmersh Training Band came away with not two, but three trophies from the Wessex Winter Competition, held at Trafalgar School in Downton.
The Training Band performed in two sections, the Training Band Section, where up to 6 Adults are allowed to assist, and the Youth Section where all players have to be 18 or under.  In the Training Section the Band achieved a creditable third, but it was in the Youth Section that the Band excelled, with first place for the best played hymn tune of the day; first place for the best deportment and 2nd place for their overall performance.  Truly a day to remember.
