The Band celebrated the birth of Thomas James, born during the Band Training Weekend on 18th October and weighing in at an impressive 7lb7oz.  Thomas James is the son of ex Band member Justyn and his wife Esther, who now live in Ealing.

Justyn joined the Band in 1988 to play trombone when he was 13.  He continued until 1995/6 as the Band’s principal trombone player.   Justyn left the Band and moved to London to attend the Royal College of Music and also played with the Hampshire Youth Orchestra.  He is now a qualified primary school teacher in Greenford.  He teaches brass privately and coaches and conducts the Ealing Youth Orchestra.

Justyn is the older brother of Tim our Principal Tuba Player, and son of John and Janice Waterman, who have been very instrumental in supporting the Band through the Supporters Club and their help with the Training Band.

Congratulations to Justyn and Esther and a warm welcome to Thomas.  We will keep a Band seat warm for him!
